Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ApplianceChain collects when you browse this website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to appliancechain.com and to the messages we exchange on WhatsApp.

Who we are

ApplianceChain is a sourcing partner for the small appliance industry. We introduce global buyers to qualified manufacturers in China, help shortlist products, and coordinate the technical and commercial details of a first order. We are not the seller of record on the orders we help prepare.

What we collect

We try to collect only what a real sourcing conversation needs.

Information you give us

• Your name, company name, job title and country.
• Your email address and WhatsApp number, so we can reply to you.
• What you told us about the products you want, target market, target price range and expected volume.
• Any message, file or spec sheet you send us.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs such as IP address, browser type, device, referring page and time of visit.
• Basic aggregate statistics about which pages attract sourcing buyers.

Information from third parties

Where a supplier or a trade show contact introduces you to us, we may receive your name and contact details from them so we can reply to the enquiry they passed on.

Why we use it

We use your information to:

• Answer your enquiry and send you product options, specifications and quotations.
• Coordinate with manufacturers on your behalf, including samples and technical questions.
• Improve the site, for example by finding out which product categories buyers actually look for.
• Keep a record of the enquiries we handled, so we can follow up accurately.

Where you are based in the EEA, the UK or a similar jurisdiction, we rely on preparing a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) as the main legal basis. Where we rely on our legitimate interest in running a sourcing business (Article 6(1)(f)), we keep the data minimal and only hold it as long as the conversation needs it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with:

• The manufacturers you ask us to quote, and only the details they need to quote.
• WhatsApp / Meta, which delivers the messages you send us.
• Our hosting, email and website analytics providers, who process data on our behalf and under contract.

We will not send your information to anyone else without asking you first.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry and its replies while the sourcing conversation is active. If it does not turn into an order, we usually delete or anonymise it within 24 months, unless we are legally required to keep something longer, for example tax or contract records.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. To do any of those, send us a message on WhatsApp. We usually answer within a few working days.

You can also tell us at any time that you would rather not hear from us. We will add you to an internal do-not-contact list so the follow-up stops.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses only the minimum needed to work: a cookie or local storage entry that keeps the page layout you chose while you browse, and the technical cookies your browser needs to load the site. We do not run advertising trackers or cross-site profiling.

WhatsApp messages you send us are stored by WhatsApp under Meta’s own privacy policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy.

Where your data is stored

Our servers and our messaging are handled in China. If you are in a country that requires extra safeguards for transfers of personal data out of the EEA or the UK, we will tell you what applies before we start a relationship that involves sending your details there.

Children

This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will make the change visible on this page with a new date at the top. For a material change we will also say so when we next reply to you.
